Carle Foundation Hospital is a 325-bed acute care hospital and regional referral center. Illinois-designated Regional Level I Trauma Center serves 16 counties and a Co-Perinatal Center. Besides the Carle Heart Center and Carle Cancer Center, it offers all major specialty services including obstetrics, perinatal/neonatal intensive care, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and the Mills Breast Cancer Institute. Community services include Community Care Discount Program, which assists families with hospital bills, and free community education programs. Carle Foundation Hospital is working with physicians and Carle Clinic Association and scientists of the University of Illinois to conduct translational research, turning discoveries made in the lab into groundbreaking treatments and technology.
