The American Heart Association supports scientific research to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The program offers educational materials to the public on how to reduce the risk of having a heart attack or stroke, to recognize the warning signs of heart attack or stroke and how to control blood pressure. It also offers information on CPR training and school site educational materials and blood pressure screenings.
